Hello and welcome to my online, digital rendition of a sketchbook. I have personally broken down this gallery into three topical areas. This way my work is easy to follow, organsed and the uploading of content is fluid. Please enjoy my work and feel free to get intouch!
ZEN TANGLE
Defining the zentangle can be difficult. Information can be elusive, but it does exist. Part of the elusiveness exists because a zentangle is different things. It is a method of relaxation. It is a patented name with a kit and specific patterns, paper, and pens. It is a drawing done on a piece of paper. There is zentangle-inspired art, and zentangle-integrated art, and there is zendoodling.
As well as creating doodle styled images, I enjoy creating characters. This has always been in search of my story, creating my own story. I enjoy working with other creators, investing ideas into projects and reaching the final design is always a rewarding experience.
CHARACTER DESIGN
A large part of my work is story-telling. I am an avid reader and when I'm not designing, drawing or colaborating, I'm reading. Stories have always been a 'gateway' to my imagination. Now creating creating characters for stories is a passion that I am always learning within.
Aswell as creating my own original artwork and stories I spend alot of my energy creating drawing exercises, for myself and others to try. My most recent and by far my favourite is the series of 'Growings' or 'Organic Architecture' as I like to call it. What follows is a collection of creations from those creative exercises during 2014
GROWINGS
Growings Not Drawings grew from a creative experiment I created for myself to experiment within drawing. This developed into a full blown, heavy detail style. I draw all the time but these are some pure alchemical creations that bear a piece of my soul. I also have prints on offer of these in my shop. (Featured Below)
